Life Happens.

I had such great intentions when I started this blog.  Pictures and updates all of the time.  Yea, right.  Who has time?!?   So, many months of my kids' lives have passed by undocumented in the blogging world... oh well, I've been too busy living through it to blog about it!

Here's a cliff note version of life in the Haby House:

Andrew is doing well in school with the occassional misbehaving thrown in for good measure! He's had great grades and he's learning to read slowly but surely.  He's playing soccer again and is getting better! . He's a master at the Nintendo DS already!  He lost his very first tooth yesterday and I'm definitely going to post about it because it was a pretty big deal!

Alex is becoming more and more independent every day!  YIKES!!   She's putting on her own pull-up or underwear, her own pants and sometimes her own shoes.  She does not want any help doing it either!  She likes to torment and abuse her brother as often as possible.  She's potty training now and we've had a few successes already!  M&M's as bribery work great on her!

We've all started going to Trinity Lutheran for worship services.  We've been part of the Children's Center for 5 years now and lots of the teachers have invited us to the services before, but we've never tried them out.  Andrew has been asking to go to Sunday School and Church for some time now, so we finally decided to give it a shot.  We're going to the 9:31 modern service and we're really enjoying it! Andrew goes to Sunday School while we are in service so it works out well.  I've never gone to church and felt comfortable and that hasn't been a problem at all here! So far, my favorite part is that we get to enjoy church as a family! :)

I think that about sums it up... Now lets see if I can keep up with this thing again...

Absolute Awesomeness!!!

I found this today and couldn't resist posting it.

LSU Trip

This event is old, but I just had to post it for Aunt Candace....

Aunt Candace moved off to LSU to start the fall semester there.  The kids hadn't seen her since she left in August so in early November, we made the trek up to visit for Family Day.

The kids were surprisingly good on the trip there, which is what we were most worried about.  At some point they both fell asleep, so the screaming and fighting was down to a minimum!  When we got to the hotel, Alex had her second wind. And then Andrew had his.  Mom and Dad did not unfortunately!  :)

Alex was really, really excited about the big bed.
Not so excited when we told her she couldn't sleep in it!

The kids loved squeezing into Andrew's travel bed.

The next morning we headed out for a full day on campus doing family activities and enjoying the game!
Headed to the campus.

LSU Dad.

Jonathan felt totally blasphemous in this shirt.
So, he squeezed in some maroon on his hat.

Andrew grew tired of walking the campus quickly.
Alex did not!

That night, we took in the big LSU Homecoming game.  LSU v. UL-Monroe.  Earlier in the season, Andrew had been watching an Aggie game and saw a bunch of guys shirtless with their chests and stomachs painted.  He said that he wanted to do that at a game one day.  When we went to the LSU game, he hadn't forgetten about that idea.....
Alex wanted to be just like her brother....

Game Time!

Andrew kept getting crazy looks.
I don't think they've ever seen a 5 yr old
this decked out before!

Checking out Mike the Tiger

The trip was fun, and EXHAUSTING!!   The kids had a blast on the campus and at the game.  Sadlly for Jonathan, Alex screams L-S-U, L-S-U now and growls like Mike the Tiger.  I'm sure he'll have her back to singing the Aggie War Hymn in no time!
